NWFL Premiership December Player of the Month Nominees: Atume Doosuur, Alaba Olabiyi Shine

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership has unveiled the nominees for the Player of the Month award for December, celebrating four outstanding players whose performances lit up the league during the festive period.

December proved to be a decisive month in the NWFL, and these nominees stood out for their consistency, match-winning contributions, and influence on their teams’ fortunes.

Atume Doosuur (Edo Queens) enjoyed a remarkable run of form, finding the back of the net in three consecutive matches. She scored against Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, and Adamawa Queens, with each goal directly contributing to a victory for Edo Queens. Her ability to deliver when it mattered most underlined her importance to the team and her growing reputation as a reliable match-winner.

Alaba Olabiyi (Bayelsa Queens) was equally impressive, producing a series of dominant attacking performances throughout the month. Her standout display came in Abuja, where she inspired Bayelsa Queens to a resounding 5–0 away win over Naija Ratels FC. Alaba registered two goals and an assist in that encounter, showcasing her creativity, composure, and leadership in the final third.

Kemi Adegbuyi (FC Robo Queens) announced herself as one of the league’s most exciting young forwards with her goal-scoring exploits in December. She netted three goals in total, including a brace in a convincing 4–0 victory over Confluence Queens. She also found the scoresheet in a thrilling 5–1 South West derby win against Dannaz Ladies, playing a key role in FC Robo Queens’ attacking dominance.

Ramotalahi Kareem (Rivers Angels), a U-20 international, demonstrated her knack for delivering in high-pressure situations. She scored two crucial match-winning goals during the month, securing a 2–1 win over Pacesetter Queens and a hard-fought 1–0 victory against Ibom Angels. Her calmness and efficiency in front of the goal proved vital for Rivers Angels.

With each nominee making a strong case through decisive performances and goals, the December Player of the Month award promises to be keenly contested.
