The brilliant run of Nigeria’s D’Tigers at the 2025 AfroBasket Championships continued in style as they dispatched Cameroon with a commanding 101–92 victory.

Fresh from an 87–66 win over defending champions Tunisia and a 77–59 opening-night triumph against Madagascar, the Tigers entered their final group game determined to wrap up the stage on a high note.

The Indomitable Lions began strongly, racing to a 7-point lead in the first quarter. However, Nigeria quickly regrouped and edged ahead 28–27 by the end of the period.

In the second quarter, the Tigers raised the tempo, hitting the 60-point mark while holding Cameroon to 43. Caleb Agada led the charge with 12 points as Nigeria established firm control.

By the third quarter, the Tigers were in cruise control, adding 26 more points to stretch their advantage to 86–55. Cameroon’s hopes dimmed further when Jeremiah Hill (16 points, 4 rebounds) was forced off with injury.

The Lions attempted a late rally in the final quarter, scoring 14 points in quick succession, but Nigeria’s early dominance proved decisive. Despite Cameroon narrowing the gap, the Tigers put up a good fight, and sealed a 99–90 win.

Notable performances included Cameroon’s Yves Thierry Missi, who registered a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Fabian Ateba, who added 19 points. For Nigeria, Josh Okogie was outstanding once again, finishing with 16 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 steals.
