21 days ago, the Super Falcons of Nigeria made history, by conquering Africa once again, and claiming their tenth WAFCON title.

It was a moment of joy for Nigerian fans home and abroad, as the Falcons restored pride in Nigerian football.

However, this joy soon turned sour as Super Falcons Captain Rasheedat Ajibade revealed that the Falcons had not received the promises made by the Federal Government, and match bonuses.

In a chat with Chude Jideonwo, the skipper said;

"We have not received our money, hopefully they will pay."

"All the promises you heard, back and forth, we have not received anything. Even our match bonuses, everything is still a work in progress"

However, in a shocking turn of events, Director General of the National Sports Commission, Honourable Bukola Olopade has confirmed that the Super Falcons captain denied making these claims, and that all bonuses due to the 10-time African Champions have been paid.

"I have on my phone messages between Mallam Shehu Dikko and Rasheedat Ajibade, where she vehemently denied ever saying their bonuses have not been paid. The DG revealed on Arise TV's Morning show.

"I know authoritatively that all their bonuses have been paid, I have confirmed from the NFF and from Ajibade, but for maybe one or two whose accounts had issues with the CBN, all of their monies have been paid in terms of the bonuses."

When asked about the fulfillment of the promises made by the Federal Government, he said;

"It will be paid. As at few days ago, Mallam Shehu Dikko was still talking with the Minister for Housing. I sat with the gentleman who is in charge of the "Renewed Hope" homes, and work has already started on how they will get their apartments in record time."

"We are in a Government that fulfils promises.

"Even from the part of the NSC, when we say "A will be given, they get A". We don't play games with their remuneration, a lot of things have changed." He concluded
