Victorious once again! Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been crowned the 2025 Women’s National Team of the Year at the CAF Awards.
The Nigerian senior women’s team clinched a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco, defeating the hosts 3–2 in a stunning comeback victory.
Despite not always receiving the full attention and support they deserve from the Nigeria Football Federation, the Super Falcons soared above all challenges. They went unbeaten throughout the tournament, overcoming top sides such as South Africa and Zambia on their way to the trophy.
The 10-time African Champions also dominated the team of the tournament, with Stars Michelle Alozie, Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo all claiming spots in the tournament's best XI.
The Falcons also secured qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Benin Republic 3–1 on aggregate, sealing their spot in the 16-team continental showpiece next year.
This award stands as a testament to the passion, resilience and dominance the Nigerian women have consistently displayed over the years. It is a fitting reward for their hard work, commitment, and ability to triumph against the odds.
