CAF Awards – Again, Chiamaka Nnadozie Named Goalkeeper of the Year

The accolades just will not stop pouring in for Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, as she has once again etched her name into the history books.

On a cold Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco, Nnadozie was named the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the third consecutive time—becoming the first-ever goalkeeper to achieve this remarkable feat.

2025 has truly been a year of dreams for Chiamaka.

The 24-year-old completed a dream move to the English Women’s Super League with Brighton & Hove Albion Women after helping French side Paris FC Women secure their first-ever major trophy, thanks in large part to her heroics in the penalty shootout.

She also led Nigeria to their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title, keeping four clean sheets and pulling off numerous crucial saves throughout the tournament—performances that earned her the Best Goalkeeper award.

Chiamaka also shone on the world stage.

At the recently concluded Ballon d'Or ceremony, she was nominated for the Women’s Yashin Trophy but narrowly missed out to Chelsea’s Champions League–winning goalkeeper, Hannah Hampton.

Since the inception of the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, Chiamaka Nnadozie has claimed it every single year, with no other goalkeeper getting a hand on it.

History in the making.
