Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has sealed a high-profile move to Paris Saint-Germain Féminin, joining the French giants on a free transfer after the expiration of her contract with Atlético Madrid.
Ajibade signed a two-year deal that will keep her at the Paris-based club until 2027, with an option to extend for a further year. The 25-year-old forward becomes PSG’s latest acquisition as the club continues to strengthen its squad for both domestic and European campaigns.
Her move also sees her link up with fellow Nigerian international Jennifer Echegini, who joined the club earlier this summer. The pair are expected to bring dynamism and attacking flair to PSG’s frontline, offering coach Jocelyn Prêcheur more options in the final third.
Ajibade, known for her pace, creativity, and leadership qualities, leaves Atlético Madrid after a successful spell where she became a key figure in the Spanish side’s attack. Her time in Spain also solidified her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most consistent performers in Europe.
For Nigeria, the transfer adds further prestige to the growing presence of Super Falcons stars in Europe’s elite clubs. Ajibade, who captained Nigeria to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, will now be aiming to replicate that success in France, competing for league titles and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
