The curtains have now closed on the 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership regular season, and Matchday 14 delivered a perfect finale—late winners, high-scoring thrillers, and final heartbreaks. As eight games wrapped up across the country on Wednesday, April 30, the complete Super Six picture finally emerged, with Naija Ratels clinching the last coveted spot in dramatic fashion.

Here’s how the final Matchday unfolded:

Lagos | Robo Queens 2–1 Delta Queens

A stoppage-time strike from Mariam Yahaya handed Robo Queens a dramatic win, but it wasn’t enough to qualify. Despite their fight, the Lagos side missed out on a championship playoffs place, edged by Naija Ratels (23 points) by just one point.

Ibadan | Ekiti Queens 1–0 Abia Angels

Rasheedat Salau’s well-timed finish just before the break sank Abia Angels’ in Ibadan and with it any hopes of finishing the regular season on a high note. On the other hand, Ekiti Queens closed their campaign with a solid win and quiet progress.

Owerri | Heartland Queens 2–1 Nasarawa Amazons

Already qualified, Nasarawa Amazons were stunned by Faith Samson’s brace from the penalty spot. Heartland Queens ended on a high note, taking pride from a tough season.

Ikenne | Remo Stars Ladies 5–0 Dannaz Ladies

Hosts of the upcoming Super Six, Remo Stars Ladies issued a strong statement of intent. Kafayat Bashiru and Bolaji Olamide each grabbed braces in a ruthless display that confirmed their status as title contenders. Bolaji Olamide now has her goals tally at 14 and is just three goals shy of the record 17 with five playoff games still to come.

Will Bolaji Olamide hit the mark?

Numan | Adamawa Queens 3–1 Ibom Angels

An entertaining encounter saw Adamawa finish with a flourish. Despite Ibom’s late push, goals from Onah, Tarfa, and Sule secured a proud final-day victory for the home side ensuring that Ibom Angels finish the season without gaining a single point on the road.

Port Harcourt | Rivers Angels 4–2 Benue Queens

A six-goal thriller thrilled fans in Port Harcourt as Rivers Angels, already through, showed their depth. Benue Queens had struck the surprise going 2-1 ahead within the first hour of football but Chisom Nwachukwu’s late double highlighted Rivers Angels offensive power heading into Ikenne.

Benin City | Edo Queens 2–0 Confluence Queens

Having lost their unbeaten run in GW13, Edo Queens returned to winning ways at the expense of a very determined Confluence Queens who really impressed with their on-field performance. Early strikes from Precious Vincent and Emem Essien ensured they finish as regular-season group leaders.

Abuja | Naija Ratels 0–0 Bayelsa Queens

It was a tense, nervy affair in the capital. Bayelsa Queens preserved their unbeaten status, but Naija Ratels got what they needed—a point that confirmed their place in the Super Six, and heartbreak for Robo Queens.

All Roads Lead to Ikenne

With Matchday 14 wrapped, attention now shifts to the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, for the Super Six tournament. Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Remo Stars Ladies, Nasarawa Amazons, and Naija Ratels are now confirmed for the season-ending Championship Playoffs in Ikenne.

These sides will contest the 2025 NWFL Premiership Super Six between May 8–17, with the winner earning Nigeria’s sole ticket to the WAFU-B Qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
