Gameweek 10 of the NWFL Premiership delivered crucial victories, an unexpected milestone, and more twists in the title and relegation battles. Here’s how it all unfolded across the country:

Shining Contenders

Edo Queens continued their dominance in Group A with a 2-0 win over Heartland Queens, thanks to goals from Mary Mamudu and Esther Inyang. Over in Ibadan, Remo Stars Ladies edged past Ekiti Queens 1-0, with Olasubomi Ogundele making the difference. The title race remains a tight battle between the two sides, with just one point separating them. In Group B, Rivers Angels made sure they kept pace at the top with a 2-0 victory over Naija Ratels, with Titilayo Aweda scoring early before Mary Moses sealed it. Bayelsa Queens, on the other hand, showed no mercy against Ibom Angels, running out 3-0 winners with goals from Kindness Ifeanyi, Delight Isaac, and Dooshima Tarnum.

Nasarawa Amazons Strengthen Playoff Hopes

In a crucial battle in Group A, Nasarawa Amazons boosted their playoff chances with a 2-0 win over Abia Angels, further leapfrogging them in the standings. Jenat Akekeromowei and Chisom Chima were on target, as Nasarawa now looks to solidify their position.

Benue Queens Finally Get a Point!

It took 10 games, but Benue Queens have finally earned their first-ever NWFL Premiership point. A 1-1 draw against Delta Queens saw Joy Ikyagh etch her name into history, equalizing after Destiny Itobor’s opener. It’s a small step, but a significant moment for the club.

FC Robo Queens Too Strong for Adamawa Queens

FC Robo Queens were ruthless in a 3-1 victory over Adamawa Queens, with Opeyemi Ajakaye bagging a brace and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi adding to the tally. FC Robo’s attack continues to impress, keeping them in the mix for a top-three finish. By virtue of this result, they have overtaken Naija Ratels and are now third in Group B following Ratels 2-0 loss in Port-Harcourt. Albeit, it might be short-lived as they face Rivers Angels next week.

Goalless Stalemate in Anyigba

It was a frustrating day for both Confluence Queens and Dannaz Ladies, as they played out a 0-0 draw. While the point might be useful for Dannaz, Confluence Queens remain at the bottom of Group A, desperate for a turnaround.
