Nigeria's U-17 Women’s National Team — the Flamingoes — have arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of the 2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The team departed Abuja at 7:18 AM on Wednesday and landed in Casablanca at 11:28 AM, following a four-hour, 20-minute flight.
Upon arrival, the girls were warmly received by former Super Eagles defender Taribo West, who offered them words of encouragement and wished them success ahead of the much-anticipated tournament.
As part of their preparations, the Flamingoes will take on New Zealand and Paraguay in two friendly matches before the competition kicks off on October 17.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside Canada, France, and Samoa, in what promises to be a challenging group stage.
The team will be aiming to surpass their quarter-final finish at the 2024 edition, where they were eliminated by the USA. This time, a largely new-look squad will be hoping to make history.
Their opening fixture is against Canada on October 19, 2025.
