It’s a new adventure in Bayelsa for Nigeria Flamingoes striker, Harmony Chidi, as she completes a move to 2025 NWFL Champions, Bayelsa Queens.
The club announced on Wednesday that they have finalized the loan signing of the prolific 16-year-old forward from Imo Strikers FC.
Chidi, who represented Nigeria at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, has quickly established herself as one of the Flamingoes’ most potent attacking threats, earning a reputation as a consistent goalscorer at youth level.
She now joins an already star-studded Bayelsa Queens squad, linking up with her U-17 teammates Shakirat Moshood, as well as former teammates Janet Akekoromowei, Taiwo Afolabi, and Alaba Olabiyi.
Speaking at her unveiling, Club Chairman, Robin Agonimi Apreala, expressed confidence that Chidi’s arrival will strengthen the team’s push for a continental ticket next season.
“We have decided to recruit new players whom we feel have what it takes to help us achieve our set goals. Coupled with the quality of players we already have, and the support of the Bayelsa State Government and other stakeholders, we believe we can achieve our target,” Apreala stated.
