NWFL Championship MD-2 Roundup - Sunshine Queens promoted to Premiership, three slots up for grabs

A straight return to the NWFL Premiership was sealed for Sunshine Queens—with a game to spare—as the Akure-based side claimed a one-nil victory over Unification Ladies, courtesy of a 79th-minute effort, making it two wins out of two at the Championship.

In the other Group A2 game, Kwara Ladies and Fortress Ladies played out a goalless draw, a result which cemented Sunshine Queens' qualification.

First Mahi Babes claimed another slim win over Gallant Queens, with Chidera Okechukwu's goal being the all-deciding one in that encounter.

Osun Babes fell to defeat at the hands of Imo Striker Queens, losing 2-1 in the evening. Goals from Chiamaka Damian and Precious Alex put the Imo side in front in the first half, before Omolola Asha scored what turned out to be only a consolation in the 44th minute.

Wazbak Queens and Pelican Stars struggled to edge each other out, playing a one-all draw. Joy Irobi gave Pelican Stars the lead two minutes before the end of the first 45, but Abibat Adediran drew Wazbak Queens level just before the break.

It was a comeback win for Ghetto Tiger Queens against Delta Babes, as they came from one goal down to claim a 2-1 win on the day.

Nancy Ayeta gave Delta Babes the early advantage, but Rofiat Ewetade equalised for Ghetto Tigers in the 57th minute, before Ebube Jude's 63rd-minute goal completed the comeback.

In the final Matchday 2 fixture—which was rescheduled due to the heavy downpour—Ahudiyannem Queens cruised past Chosen Generation Angels.

It was the Chizaram Onyenze show, as she scored a first-half brace before completing her hat-trick in the 83rd minute—the first hat-trick of the NWFL Championship—to hand Ahudiyannem Queens the three points, and six in two games
