It is a special kind of transfer for Nigerian-Spanish striker Edna Imade, as she joins German side Bayern Munich on a four year contract, and is immediate loaned out to Real Sociedad San Sebastián.

Coming off the back of a stellar season at Granada, where she scored 16 goals in 29 matches, finishing as the Liga F top scorer, alongside Barcelona's Alexia Putellas, and being named the league's player of the month in December last year, Edna has now made a significant leap in her career.

The 2000 Benin-born forward who is reportedly open to commiting to Nigeria, will be loaned out to another Liga F side, Real Sociedad San Sebastián in the 2025/26 season, as Bayern look to help support her positive development.

Speaking after making the move, Edna said via the club media;

"I am incredibly happy and proud to have signed my contract with FC Bayern Women. With its history, the club is one of the biggest and most important clubs in the world. I am therefore delighted to be a part of the club in the future and to contribute to its successes.

" For me personally, this step is one of the most important in my career so far and shows me that the hard work of the past few years has paid off. In terms of my playing style, I can play both as a center forward and on the wings. I would describe myself as strong in the air and in finishing, and I am also a complete team player who always gives my all on the pitch." She concluded.

The club's Director, Bianca Rech was full of praises for Edna, making mention of the qualities that attracted the club to the forward.

"Edna brings an exciting profile – she is fast, physically strong, and versatile in attack, she praised.

After her strong season in Spain, we want to continue to support her for that positive development.

Therefore, together with her and her team, we have decided on a loan. She is an open-minded, ambitious player – we are convinced that we will have a lot of fun with her in the future."
