Super Falcons Mercy Akide Mission X

The major hot topic on the lips of Nigerian football fans is the possibility of winning a 10th WAFCON title, by the Super Falcons of Nigeria, a topic which has generated a lot of talking points, with divided opinions.

Sequel to WAFCON 2025, it's been a poor preparation process for the Falcons, with the first competitive game of the year in June this year.

Mercy Akide, Former Super Falcons midfielder and Three-time WAFCON winner and former African female footballer of the year has explained the girls need to play as a team if they would bring home the 10th title.

"They should go and believe in each other. When Randy was there, I gave them a bit of a pep talk in Washington DC, I don't know I was led to tell them that they have to play together a team.

They are there as a team but they are not. In soul and body. She said in an interview via Channels Television

They always feel like they are better than each other. When you do that, it's not a team work anymore.

You need to have the team work, they need to have commitment, they have to work with each other, whether good or bad, whether you're on the field or not, whether you wore the jersey or not. Whether you're on the bench or not.

They all have the talent but they are not working together. Let it not be the same again, in this tournament, because I saw it in Morrocco as well.
